    • Triumph Of Love

      $14.99

      One Chapter. One Monumental Chapter.

Each volume in this new book series from bestselling author John MacArthur focuses on one great chapter of the Bible.

In The Triumph of Love, focusing on Romans 8, we see that there is nothing that shall ever “separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom 8:39).

Taken from the MacArthur New Testament Commentary, this book equips believers with transforming truth by explaining how the Holy Spirit:

*Frees us from sin and death and enables us to fulfill the law
*Changes our nature and empowers us for victory
      *Confirms our adoption
      *Guarantees our glory
      *And more

Our salvation was secured by God’s decree from eternity past and will be held secure by Christ’s love through all future time and throughout all eternity. In Romans 8, Paul allows absolutely no exceptions in regard to the believer’s security in Christ.

    • Moses Servant Of God

      $20.00

From renowned Bible scholar F. B. Meyer comes this fascinating, all-encompassing profile of one the most important figures in Scripture. Meyer digs deeply into both Scripture and the historical record to reveal lessons and personal applications from this complex man of faith.

Far from the imposing man of granite sculpted by Michelangelo, Moses was full of flaws and deficiencies that rendered him powerless, save for the all-sufficient grace of a mighty God. Yet, despite many frustrations and human frailties, Moses did not back down or quit but instead grew closer to the heart of God, learning the importance of obedience, patience, courage, faith, and prayer. As a result, God entrusted His servant with greater responsibility.

Woven throughout this character study are wonderful lessons and realities that can help all believers become better able to serve God and others.

    • Odyssey Of Grace Part Two The New Testament In Review From Ephesians To Rev

      $19.99

In the Odyssey of Grace series, Cy Mersereau invites you to join him as he travels through the twenty-seven books of the New Testament. In this series, each book of the New Testament is summarized, with special consideration given to topics of common, and sometimes controversial, interest.

The journey begins with the coming of Christ in the four Gospels, then threads its way through the epistles and ends with Revelation, where time dissolves into the eternal state. Along the way, the reader will encounter adventure, history, theology, advice for practical Christian living, and become acquainted with some of the more fascinating personalities of the early church.

The author of each book has his own style, his own emphasis, and his own story that is part of the larger story of Jesus Christ and the redemption he purchased for us on Calvary two thousand years ago.

Some of the topics covered here include:
*Prophetical insights from believers of various backgrounds on the book of Revelation.
*The hotly contested miracle of Jesus turning water into wine.
*Judas, his betrayal of Christ, and how and when he died
*A discussion of the book of Philemon to address the question of whether the Bible promotes slavery
*A comprehensive look into why the Gospel of Mark has so many endings and which is the right one.

Join in on the conversation as Cy discusses these questions, and so many more!

    • Last Great Outpouring

      $19.99

After four hundred years of prophetic silence, God sent John the Baptist to announce the coming of the Messiah, the baptism He would bring, and the in-breaking of the kingdom of God on earth. In response, people streamed to the Jordan River to hear John’s words and be baptized by him in the Jewish ritual mikveh bath for cleansing from sin and defilement. John’s calling was to prepare the people for the coming glory.

Our God is nothing if not consistent-the same yesterday, today and forever. As in the days leading to the return of Jesus, He therefore continues to send messengers in advance to announce coming moves of the Spirit in order to prepare His people to receive. Author R. Loren Sandford believes God is about to do something huge, wonderful, and even unprecedented in scope and impact, and he is urging Christians everywhere to prepare for it.

Beginning with the prophet Haggai and moving through the Bible, Loren lays a foundation for his belief that the time of the last great outpouring and the Lord’s return is now.

He writes, “The church in our day has been ravaged and diminished in influence under pressure from the idolatrous culture that surrounds us and that, figuratively speaking, a remnant is even now returning from exile. It’s time to rebuild on a biblical foundation and construct a temple adequate to contain the outpouring God is about to send.”

Loren says we must reject our present culture, which is steeped in consumerism and a focus on self, and return to a culture of covenant. The former has weakened and destroyed us, while the latter will edify and strengthen us.

As John the Baptist came in the spirit and power of Elijah to prepare the way, prophetic voices are now rising to proclaim that the greatest outpouring of the Holy Spirit in history is coming. The great last days’ move of God approaches and the call for preparation now is the same as John preached so long ago. Through reliable prophetic voices, God now cries for holiness and cleansing to uproot everything in ourselves and in our churches not solidly rooted in the nature of Jesus and the Father.

Should Christians be embarrassed by the book of Revelation?

The Revelation of John has long confused and disturbed readers. The Apocalypse of John among Its Critics confronts the book’s difficulties. Leading experts in Revelation wrestle honestly with a question raised by critics:

*Should John’s Apocalypse be in the canon? (Alan S. Bandy)
*Was John intentionally confusing? (Ian Paul)
*Was John a bully? (Alexander E. Stewart)
*Did John delight in violence? (Dana M. Harris)
*Was John a chauvinist? (Kulli Toniste)
*Was John intolerant to others? (Michael Naylor)

*Did John make things up about the future? (Dave Mathewson)
*Did John advocate political subversion? (Mark Wilson)
*Did John misuse the Old Testament? (G.K. Beale)

Engaging deeply with Revelation’s difficulties helps the reader understand the book’s message?and respond rightly. The book of Revelation does not need to be avoided or suppressed. It contains words of life.

    • Septuagint : Clouding Gods Word

      $12.98

Most of academia does not consider the Jewish Scriptures and the Old Testament portion of the Christian Bible to be one and the same. According to them, the original text of this part of God’s Word has been lost and is in need of “recovery.” To restore the original text, they maintain that the Hebrew Masoretic Text, the Samaritan Pentateuch, and the Septuagint must be compared.

The Septuagint (LXX) is an ancient translation of the Old Testament from Hebrew to Hellenistic Greek. This is almost the only hard fact concerning this translation that is truly verifiable. As the LXX is supposedly over 1,100 years older than the most ancient surviving Hebrew manuscripts, and as it often reads differently from them, text critics presume that the LXX was translated from an older, thus more reliable, Hebrew text.

Believing the LXX contains readings that have been lost or corrupted in the Hebrew Scriptures, critics hold that the Septuagint may be used in determined places to “correct and restore” these adulterated readings. Such is the status that the LXX holds in Old Testament text critical circles.

Indeed, one constantly reads that the Septuagint was “the” Bible of the early Christians. But-we wonder-is such veneration by academia justified? Does the New Testament frequently quote from the LXX instead of the Hebrew?

Rather than offering fanciful theories, this fresh critical analysis examines the above questions by presenting numerous side-by-side comparisons of the LXX Greek and Hebrew Masoretic text, as well as significant mathematical contrasts. This approach allows readers to discover the truth for themselves. The result will be surprising.

    • Ripped Out Of The Bible

      $9.88

See what is missing in the new translations of the Bible!

Did you know that the Greek New Testament text historically used down through the centuries by the believing Church has been cast aside and replaced by a radically different Greek text?

Nearly everyone has the impression that the difference in the wording between modern translations and the 1611 King James Bible is mainly due to synonym choices and language changes. Such is not the situation. The outrageous reason is that almost all translations since 1881 have been made from a drastically different Greek text than was used to prepare the older versions. The traditional Greek has been replaced!

Dr. Jones digs deep into the truth of God’s Word and separates the sheep from the goats. It allows us to see the outright deception that is happening all in the name of money. Don’t miss this opportunity to greater understanding of what Gods Word is and is not.

    • Arrival Of The King

      $29.99

      The suffering and vindicated king

The Psalter evinces meaningful arrangement. When psalms are read with attentiveness to their textual context, striking connections emerge. In The Arrival of the King: The Shape and Story of Psalms 15-24, Carissa Quinn approaches these psalms as a compositional unity. When read as a unit, Psalms 15-24 tell the story of God’s kingdom, established through the suffering and deliverance of his Davidic king.

Quinn interprets Psalms 15-24 as a sequence and a chiasm, revealing provocative links in adjacent and parallel psalms. These psalms have a sense of progress, beginning with the question of who may ascend the holy hill and culminating in the divine king’s own ascent. They also display recursion, as themes in one psalm are developed in its chiastic parallel. At the peak of the chiasm is Psalm 19, where the king praises God’s creation and Torah and prays for righteousness.

The Arrival of the King establishes and explores the rewards of approaching the Psalms as a carefully arranged literary work.

    • Social And Historical Approaches To The Bible

      $24.99

The Bible was not written and received in a historical vacuum–in fact, the social and historical context of the Bible illuminates key understandings that may have been otherwise missed. Biblical scholars use many different approaches to uncover this context, each engaging various aspects of the social and historical world of the Bible–from religious ritual to scribal practice to historical event. In Social & Historical Approaches to the Bible, you will learn how these methods developed and see how they have been used. You will be introduced to the strengths and weaknesses of each method, so you may understand its benefits as well as see its limitations. Many of these approaches are still in use by biblical scholars today, though often much changed from their earliest form as ideas were revised in light of the challenges and questions posed by further research.

    • Demons : What The Bible Really Says About The Powers Of Darkness

      $24.99

The truth about demons is far stranger–and even more fascinating–than what’s commonly believed.

Are demons real? Are they red creatures with goatees holding pitchforks and sitting on people’s shoulders while whispering bad things? Did a third of the angels really rebel with Satan? Are demons and “principalities and powers” just terms for the same entities, or are they different members of the kingdom of darkness? Is the world a chaotic mess because of what happened in Eden, or is there more to the story of evil?

What people believed about evil spiritual forces in ancient biblical times is often very different than what people have been led to believe about them today. And this ancient worldview is missing from most attempts to treat the topic.

In Demons, Michael Heiser debunks popular presuppositions about the very real powers of darkness. Rather than traditions, stories, speculations, or myths, Demons is grounded in what ancient people of both the Old and New Testament eras believed about evil spiritual forces and in what the Bible actually says. You’ll come away with a sound, biblical understanding of demons, supernatural rebellion, evil spirits, and spiritual warfare.

    • Supernatural : What The Bible Teaches About The Unseen World And Why It Mat

      $17.99

Dr. Michael S. Heiser, a Scholar-in-Residence at Faithlife Corporation, presents fifteen years of research on what the Bible really says about the unseen world of the supernatural unfiltered by tradition or by theological presuppositions. People shouldn’t be protected from the Bible, Dr. Michael S. Heiser says, but theological systems often do just that, by explaining away difficult or troublesome passages of Scripture because their literal meaning doesn’t fit into our tidy systems.

Who were the sons of God ? Who were the Nephilim? Where do angels fit into the supernatural hierarchy? Why did God find it necessary to have the Israelites destroy the populations of entire cities man, woman, and child? What relation does Jesus bear to the rest of the supernatural world? Dr. Michael S. Heiser tackles these questions and many more in his books Supernatural and The Unseen Realm.

    • Love Is Better Than Wine

      $14.99

King Solomon had seven hundred wives and three hundred concubines who turned his heart from God, and, eventually, tore apart his kingdom. Perhaps that’s why the Song of Solomon is a poem about pure, beautiful, and lasting love that never endangers and brings life, not death.

In Love Better Than Wine, Bible scholar Herbert Lockyer (1886-1984) explains the imagery and symbolism of this well-crafted poem and uses it to illuminate the rest of Bible. His study tells a beautifying story of the passionate love that the beloved has for his bride and that the bride has for her beloved, a picture of the love that Christ has for His church and that the church has for Him. In an age when many Christians feel betrayed, insecure, and alone, Lockyer’s words bring a timely reminder of the intimate refuge Christ offers us daily.

      $16.99

*Discover good news for the Christian life
*Understand how Christ has defeated sin’s power
*Identify the “wretch” in Romans 7

Is the Christian battle against sin a long defeat?

In Conquerors, Not Captives, Joseph R. Dodson and Mattie Mae Motl challenge the popular view that Romans 7:14-25 describes the typical Christian battle against sin. The “wretched man” of Romans 7 seems unable to do what God’s law demands and, for many Christians, his inner conflict and turmoil seem all too relatable. But are we impotent before sin and powerless to do good? When we reexamine Romans 7 in light of Paul’s writings elsewhere and his interpreters throughout church history, we encounter better news.

Conquerors, Not Captives is an accessible and thoughtful study that rebukes our gloomy expectations and invites us to take seriously the Bible’s assurances that the Holy Spirit frees us from sin’s power.

Perrin reintroduces readers to the Scrolls while correcting common misunderstandings and highlighting overlooked issues. • Literary Approaches To The Bible

      $27.99

The study of the Bible has long included a literary aspect with great attention paid not only to what was written but also to how it was expressed. The detailed analysis of biblical books and passages as written texts has benefited from the study of literature in classical philology, ancient rhetoric, and modern literary criticism. This volume of the Lexham Methods Series introduces the various ways the study of literature has been used in biblical studies. Most literary approaches emphasize the study of the text alone–its structure, its message, and its use of literary devices–rather than its social or historical background. The methods described in Literary Approaches to the Bible are focused on different ways of analyzing the text within its literary context. Some of the techniques have been around for centuries, but the theories of literary critics from the early 20th century to today had a profound impact on biblical interpretation. In this book, you will learn about those literary approaches, how they were adapted for biblical studies, and what their strengths and weaknesses are.

    • Surprised By The Parables

      $18.99

Jesus’ parables can’t simply be interpreted, they must be experienced.

In the gospels, Jesus used parables to teach transformative lessons and convey deep spiritual truths about the kingdom of God. But he often used them to confront and challenge his audience as well, forcing them to open or close their hearts to the kingdom.

Jesus understood the power of stories, but there are some things lost in translation when we try to interpret those same stories thousands of years removed from their original context. The unexpected twists and surprises in the parables might be missed by a modern audience because they’re unfamiliar with the underlying points of reference.

In Surprised by the Parables, Michelle Lee Barnewall explores the ancient context these parables drew from. These stories of grace reveal many of the mysteries central to God’s character, and understanding the ancient world behind them will help us see the parables from a new perspective.

Sometimes its hard to see the wood for the trees. Running through the many gripping and memorable stories the Bible contains is one big story of Gods plan for the world he made, and how he brought it about through Jesus Christ.

Packed with diagrams, illustrations and timelines, this accessible Bible overview unlocks the storyline of the whole Bible how God promised and then brought about the plan to save our fallen world. But this is no book of arid theological ideas. It is a story that will encourage effective, active Christian living in today’s world.

Looking at God’s covenantal promises with Abraham, Moses and David, Tim Chester presents the ‘big picture’ of the Bible and helps Christians understand the part in relation to the whole. From Creation to New Creation traces different elements of the promise and introduces:

A people: God’s promise to save a people who will be His people
A land: God’s promise to provide a place of blessing
A king: God’s promise to re-establish his rule of freedom and peace

    • Engaging Jesus With Our Senses

      $24.99

Jesus took on flesh–he was embodied. And the Gospels use multisensory language to reveal that his teaching, ministry, and interactions with people engaged the senses. Consider the raging storm on the Sea of Galilee, the perfume filling the house as Mary anointed Jesus’s feet, the significance of touch as Jesus healed people. Jesus even described himself in sensory terms–as the bread of life, the light of the world, the vine to whom his disciples are connected. Our physical senses are crucial to gaining knowledge of the world around us. Yet when it comes to Bible reading, we often reduce it to a mere cognitive experience, ignoring the Psalmist’s invitation to “taste and see that the Lord is good.”

This book offers a fresh way to read the Gospels with an emphasis on embodiment, focused on a life abiding in Christ. The goal is a greater, more tangible knowledge of God. Jeannine Hanger points to the importance of engaging our physical senses in Bible reading, shows an approach to doing so with an emphasis on sparking the imagination, and looks at how utilizing our primary senses plays out in reading the Gospels. Each chapter includes sensory practices and questions for personal reflection. The book includes a foreword by Grant Macaskill.

    • Word Fulfilled : Reading The Bible With Jesus

      $19.99

What does it mean to follow Jesus in the way we read Scripture?

As Christians, we want to follow Jesus in his teachings and way of life, which were significantly shaped by his reading of the Jewish Scriptures. By exploring how Jesus engaged the Scriptures, we can learn better how we should read our Bibles today-following Jesus in the way we read our foundational text.

The Word Fulfilled offers in-depth explorations of how Jesus discussed seven important passages in his life and ministry, presenting a way of thinking about how we read the Bible that has resonance for anyone who desires to follow Jesus better. Through scholarship, scriptural engagement, and imaginative storytelling that illuminates what reading Scripture looked and sounded like in Jesus’ context, author Michael W. Pahl helps us step back into the world of the ancient Near East and into synagogues and family kitchens as we encounter afresh the Word of God.

    • Gospel In The Pentateuch

      $14.99

The Old Testament is not light summer reading. Some chapters seem downright boring, such as the genealogies, the census listings, and the laws, and others gruesome and wrong, such as the graphic descriptions of sacrifices or killing the enemy. Why would God want us to read all that? Scholar Dr. Herbert Lockyer calls the Bible “the masterpiece of the divine Mind” because despite its sixty-six books, it is woven throughout with the same truth: the gospel. In this study of the Pentateuch, Lockyer provides a birds-eye view of the first five books of the Bible, systematically explaining how each of the first five books fit inside God’s greater plan. His detailed, practical, gospel-infused survey provides ample reason for why the Old Testament is still relevant to today’s believer. Includes charts, questions for review at the end of each chapter, and outlines of each of the five books.

    • Word From The Beginning

      $26.99

      And the Word became flesh

John’s Gospel famously opens with a poetic prologue about the Word. However, after these initial verses, the theme of God’s Word incarnate seems to fade.

The silence is only apparent. In The Word from the Beginning, Bruce G. Schuchard reunites John’s prologue with the rest of his Gospel. What Jesus does in the Gospel embodies who Jesus is in the prologue. Jesus’s words and actions reveal and unfold his unique identity as the Word. Jesus is indeed God’s Word enfleshed.

This theological reading of John’s Gospel unifies Jesus’s identity, words, and work, opening up implications for Johannine Christology.

    • Jesus Revealed In The End Times Study Guide (Student/Study Guide)

      $15.99

The end times shouldn’t scare us–they should bring us hope

Most books about the end times focus on the events described in biblical prophecy–wars, natural disasters, economic turmoil, and more–rather than the One who is revealed in those events. The result? God’s people end up fearful about what is to come rather than hopeful about Who is to come. But the Bible’s prophecies of the last days can fill us with joy and peace as we anticipate the return and reign of our beloved Savior, Jesus Christ.

In Jesus Revealed in the End Times, bestselling author Dr. Robert Jeffress takes a radically different approach to prophecy, helping you see the end times through the lens of Jesus Christ. You’ll stop fretting about future events as you start to know Jesus more deeply, see Him more clearly, and praise Him more joyfully.

This study guide helps you get the most out of the book, whether you’re studying it alone, in a small group, or as part of a churchwide initiative. With engaging icebreakers, thought-provoking questions, and activities to build on what you’ve learned, this study guide will help you face tomorrow with confidence and courage as you come to know the One who controls the future.

    • Rightly Dividing The Word

      $16.99

Study to show yourself approved to God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. -2 Timothy 2:15 (kjver)

As a follow-up to his highly successful and much sought after work Dispensational Truth, Baptist minister Clarence Larkin wrote Rightly Dividing the Word to explain how the fundamental doctrines of the Christian faith should be “rightly divided” in a series of contrasts, such as law and grace, faith and works, sin and salvation.

Larkin’s aim was not to express his opinion or the thoughts of other writers, but to present biblical concepts “based solely on the Scriptures,” with chapter and verse given for every statement.

The Bible, Larkin said, “is not a heterogeneous jumble of ancient history, myths, legends, religious speculations, and apocalyptic literature. There is a progress of revelation and
doctrine in it. You cannot understand Leviticus without Hebrews, or Daniel without Revelation. The judges knew more than the patriarchs, the prophets than the judges, and the apostles more than the prophets.”

While the Bible is written for everyone, he maintained, it is addressed to three classes of people: Jews, gentiles, and the church.

Larkin’s goal in writing this fascinating book was “to confirm in the Christian faith those who are wavering and to instruct those who have not been clearly taught the great cardinal doctrines.”

    • Strange Scriptures : Deciphering 52 Weird, Bizarre, And Curious Verses From

      $24.99

      What’s that Scripture mean?

Ever asked yourself this question when you’re reading through the Bible? We all have. Whether we’ve been saved a long time or are just beginning to follow Christ, there are portions of Scripture that go over our heads. They’re puzzling. Odd. Complicated. Strange.

*What’s baptism on behalf of the dead? (1 Corinthians 15:29)
*Wasn’t it rude for Jesus to call a woman a dog? (Mark 7:27)
*If Jesus is eternal, why is he called the firstborn? (Colossians 1:15)
*How can we do greater works than Christ? (John 14:12)

Scriptures like these are not preached from the pulpit as commonly as our favorite texts. You rarely hear about them in your small group Bible study. And it’s definitely not easy to explain what they mean.

Think of it like this: if the Bible were an apple orchard, the Scriptures we’re most familiar with are like the luscious Honey Crisp. They’re our favorites. Like, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” and “Love never fails.” Oh, the meaning and relevant application from these just gushes forth into our lives.

But strange Scriptures are more like crabapples. Consider this one: “For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to chains of gloomy darkness to be kept until the judgment” (2 Peter 2:4). Not quite a Honey Crisp, is it? There’s juice in it, all right, but if you want meaning and life application, you have to do a whole lot more squeezing.

That’s where Strange Scriptures comes in. Within each short study, author Chris Palmer has aimed to represent scholarship, Greek exegesis, and life application to bring forth a full-bodied study to nourish your soul.

      $12.99

What did Jesus really say about divorce and remarriage?

Challenging the evangelical near-consensus that Jesus permitted divorce and remarriage in certain circumstances, Gordon Wenham argues that while Jesus permitted separation in cases of sexual immorality, he did not permit divorce and remarriage.

Presenting a revisitation and expansion of several decades of thought and debate on the topic, Wenham builds his case from a close reading of Jesus’ teaching in the Gospels, showing how his teaching pushed against the culture of his day. In addition, Wenham brings in insights from ancient Near Eastern marriage laws, the Old Testament, the writings of Paul, and the earliest Christian interpreters of the Gospel divorce texts.

Readers will be challenged by a careful biblical argument that provides a counterpoint to the majority view. No study on divorce and remarriage will be complete without considering Jesus, Divorce, and Remarriage.
