Message Of Ezekiel
$30.00Ezekiel comes to us as a stranger from a distant time and land. Who is this man? He is a priest who, on his thirtieth birthday, has a dazzling vision of God on a wheeled throne; an odd prophet who engages in outlandish street theater and speaks for God on international affairs; and a seer who paints murals of apocalyptic doom and then of a restored temple bursting with emblems of paradise. Should we take this literally, reading the text as we read the news or a history textbook? Or is there a better way?
Christopher Wright masterfully opens our eyes to see and understand the message of Ezekiel. Ezekiel’s vision of the glory of God-its departure and return-is set first within Israel’s history and then in the culmination of God’s promises in Christ. Embedded in the pattern of the strange and the wonderful is a word that still speaks to God’s people today.
Part of the beloved Bible Speaks Today series, The Message of Ezekiel offers an insightful, readable exposition of the biblical text and thought-provoking discussion of how its meaning relates to contemporary life. Used by students and teachers around the world, the Bible Speaks Today commentaries are ideal for those studying or preaching the Bible and anyone who wants to delve deeper into the text. This revised edition of a classic volume features lightly updated language and a new interior design.

Job
$69.99“But where can wisdom be found? Where does understanding dwell?”
The book of Job is challenging. Its Hebrew is often obscure, its length and subject matter are intimidating, and its meaning has been debated throughout the history of biblical interpretation. In this commentary, Duane A. Garrett presents a fresh argument for the book’s meaning. Job demonstrates the inability of Wisdom, as a theological tradition, to solve the problem of evil. Without rejecting Wisdom, it shows that only God can truly deal with evil. God’s answer to evil is found only in Christ, who is anticipated in the book of Job.

Jonah And Nahum
$30.00A new verse-by-verse expository Bible commentary series from bestselling author, John MacArthur.
The MacArthur Old Testament Commentary Series
*Explains the Scripture word by word
*Is true to the approach of expository preaching
*Is based on thorough exegesis in the original languages
*Presents the meaning and theology of the text with accuracy, precision, and clarityThis volume of the MacArthur Old Testament Commentary Series (MOTC) explains the prophetic books of Jonah and Nahum. Designed to aid the preacher, this commentary is also intended to be read and applied by every believer for personal edification, blessing, and joy.
The book of Jonah demonstrates that Yahweh is the Savior of both Jews and Gentiles. Instead of immediately destroying the Ninevites for their wickedness, God raised up Jonah to proclaim God’s grace to them.
The Lord affirmed that He holds the sovereign prerogative to show compassion on whomever He wishes and to deliver those who repent. This wondrous grace of God culminates in the One who fulfilled the sign of Jonah and accomplished salvation for all who acknowledge their unworthiness, repent of their sin, and believe in Him. Thus, the book of Jonah points to the work of Christ and displays the heart of God to seek and save the lost.
In a sequel to the story, over a hundred years after Jonah preached to Nineveh, God raised up Nahum to pronounce judgment on the Ninevites.
While the Ninevites in Jonah’s day repented and received mercy, later generations returned to their wicked ways and became objects of God’s wrath. To those who presumed on God’s kindness, Nahum declared that the God who is gracious is also righteous and just.
Ultimately, God’s promise to destroy Nineveh comforted Israel and provided hope to all His people that He will keep His Word, both to preserve the righteous and to punish the wicked.

Zechariah
$34.99The MacArthur Old Testament Commentary Series
*Explains the Scripture word by word
*Is true to the approach of expository preaching
*Is based on thorough exegesis in the original languages
*Presents the meaning and theology of the text with accuracy, precision, and clarityThis volume of the MacArthur Old Testament Commentary Series (MOTC) explains the prophetic book of Zechariah. Designed to aid the preacher, this commentary is also intended to be read and applied by every believer for personal edification, blessing, and joy.
No eschatology is complete or true which does not embrace the prophecy of Zechariah. Written to comfort Israel after the remnant’s return from Babylon, Zechariah’s message assured the Israelites that the Lord had not abandoned His people.
Filled with visions, prophecies, signs, and vivid imagery, this revelation traces the flow of history to its climax when Christ will reign over the earth from His throne in Jerusalem. Zechariah predicted the coming of Alexander the Great, the Roman destruction of Jerusalem, the tyranny of the Antichrist, the battle of Armageddon, and the millennial reign of Christ.
The Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ, is the primary figure in Zechariah’s revelation. Zechariah predicted Christ’s entry into Jerusalem on a donkey, His betrayal for thirty pieces of silver, and His sacrificial death. Zechariah also revealed Christ’s future return to the Mount of Olives and the establishment of His kingdom over the earth. At that time, Israel will turn to God, and the Lord will say, “They are My people,” and Israel will respond, “Yahweh is my God” (Zech 13:9); and so “all Israel will be saved” (Rom 11:26).
History will then reach its climactic point and “Yahweh will be king over all the earth; in that day Yahweh will be the only one, and His name one” (Zech 14:9).

Message Of Isaiah (Revised)

It tells how God himself has provided the highway to holiness for those who have been redeemed. These are images that evoke the exodus from Egypt and foreshadow Christ’s achievement at the cross. There is joy even in Isaiah’s portrayal of judgment-rebuilding within the demolition, the new replacing the old-as world events reveal God’s hand.

Joshua
$49.99Joshua is not merely a story of conquest but also a treasure trove of theology.David G. Firth interprets the book of Joshua with a sensitivity to its place as Christian Scripture. Joshua is marginalized in many churches, often because its message is misunderstood. Firth reveals that, rather than simply being a story of conquest, Joshua is concerned with matters of identity and faithfulness. Joshua exhorts God’s people to live out their calling in light of God’s promises. While Israelites like Achan fall short, others–often gentiles–show surprising faith in God. Firth also probes the book’s theological themes, such as the promised land, government, rest, and promise. Daniel
$49.99The book of Daniel presents a God who is there and is not silent.
Joe M. Sprinkle connects Daniel with the biblical story. Debates rage around Daniel’s dating, historicity, and referents. With this focus on historical context, Daniel’s canonical context is often lost. While arguing for conservative dating and historicity, Sprinkle focuses on how Daniel is a fulcrum for many theological themes in both the OT and NT. Daniel says much about God’s nature, his relationship with history, the heavenly host, the Messiah, the coming kingdom, and the last things.

Lexham Geographic Commentary On Acts Through Revelation
$54.99Walking in the footsteps of the Apostles.
The Lexham Geographic Commentary on Acts through Revelation puts readers in the sandals of the Apostles as they travel throughout the Mediterranean, explaining the geographical setting for the spread of Christianity in the first century. Geography is a central concern throughout the writings of Paul and the Apostles, but the full significance of its geographical context is easily overlooked without a familiarity with the places, the types of transportation, the relative distances, and the travel conditions around the ancient Mediterranean. Luke’s account mentions places from all over the known world, and Paul’s missionary travels covered an estimated 15,000 miles by land and sea. The Lexham Geographic Commentary gives you insight into the importance of all of these locations–both culturally and spatially–and provides a deeper understanding of the spread of early Christianity.

1 And 2 Thessalonians Verse By Verse

Paul’s letters to the church in Thessalonica are often considered two of the less important of his letters, but they were written to a very important city with very important issues. Lexham Geographic Commentary On The Gospels
$54.99Many familiar Gospel narratives are filled with geographic details that people gloss over because of their distance from the Holy Land.
Yet climate, landscape, natural resources, and other features of geography leave a lasting mark on the societies and cultures that have developed within them. In a world of dirt roads and dry riverbeds, where shepherds watch their flocks in the hills and fishermen mend their nets by the sea, Jesus taught from hill and plain, using the surrounding landscape as the backdrop for his teaching. Jesus’ parables and illustrations are often brimming with geographic clues, but the significance of these distinctive details is often lost. The Lexham Geographic Commentary on the Gospels puts readers in the sandals of the disciples as they travel throughout Israel with Jesus, explaining the significance of geography for mining the riches of the biblical text.

Galatians Verse By Verse
$22.99After the Apostle Paul returned from his first missionary journey, he heard that a certain group of legalistic Jewish Christians had infiltrated the churches he had established. These false teachers were teaching that new Christians had to be circumcised and follow the Old Testament law in order to be truly saved. Paul, realizing the gospel was at stake, wrote this letter in response.
In Galatians Verse by Verse, experienced New Testament scholar sets forth Paul’s laser-focused argument: Jesus is not only the Messiah; he came to inaugurate a new era in salvation history. In this new era, Christians are not made right with God by obeying the law; justification is by faith alone. This frees believers to live their lives not trying to earn salvation, but instead joyfully keeping in step with the Spirit. Pastors, Bible study leaders, and invested laypeople will all benefit from Osborne’s careful reading of the text and commitment to making sense of the New Testament without scholarly jargon.
The Osborne New Testament Commentary Series is a set of commentaries on every New Testament book. In each volume, Grant R. Osborne seeks to carefully exposit the text in plain language, bringing out the treasures in each book and making them accessible for today’s readers.

Revelation Verse By Verse
$32.99Revelation is like no other book in the New Testament. Its bizarre images need explaining even for seasoned Bible readers, but when we turn to biblical scholars we find that they don’t all agree.
In Revelation Verse by Verse, Grant R. Osborne offers a clear exposition of the book that takes seriously both its first-century context and what it means today. Where he disagrees with other interpretations of particular images, he briefly mentions them but remains focused on the text throughout. 1-3 John
$69.99The Evangelical Exegetical Commentary series, written from an evangelical perspective, incorporates the latest in biblical scholarship. It combines historical, literary, and theological explanations with ideas for applying the Bible to everyday life.
In 1, 2, & 3 John, Gary Derickson explores how John communicates his pastoral concerns in his three epistles. Interacting with the most recent scholarship, Derickson focuses on John’s message and concerns rather than following the common theory of a Johannine school and secessionist polemic. He distinguishes pastoral and polemical elements within John’s message and recognizes John’s own assessment of his readers’ faith. By encouraging his readers to express God’s love through active involvement in one other’s lives, John shows that he is concerned not with how we possess eternal life but with how we express it as we relate to God.
